I make many full and partial dentures and we have great results. We use our own personal lab to create the look and function that denture and partial patients deserve.
You will not receive a quick, rush denture/partial. Dentures and partial can be difficult to fit and can be difficult to make comfortable. For this reason I believe the fabrication of a denture/partial should not be rushed. I take five (5) appointments to make a full denture and four to five (4-5) appointments for a partial. This is the way we were taught and this is the way dentures should be made. No Shortcuts.
The procedure is as follows:
The denture/partial we are going to make for you is made out of characterized acrylic and IPN teeth. These materials are considered very high grade, therefore giving you years of use.
The denture/partial will take approximately five (5) appointments, each about 2 weeks apart. Therefore, it will take about ten (10) weeks before you will have your denture/partial. This sounds like, and is a long time, but we take a few extra appointments and give our lab time to fabricate a great fitting and natural looking denture/partial.
Appointment 1: Exam. Initial impressions. X-rays.
During this appointment we will take our first impression, this impression will be used by our lab to make custom impression trays which will be used in the next appointment. These custom trays will allow your denture/partial to have a much better fit.
Appointment 2: Final Impressions.
During this appointment we will take our final impression with the custom trays.
Appointment 3: Bite records. Tooth color and tooth shape selection.
At this appointment we will take a bite record, which shows the alignment of your upper and lower jaws. We will also select a color and a shape for the denture/partial teeth.
Appointment 4: Try in.
Please feel free to bring a spouse, child, friend, etc. to the appointment to allow them to help us decide how the denture/partial looks. The denture/partial will have all the teeth placed and aligned in wax, so changes can be made if needed. If there is ANYTHING that you are concerned about or do not like about the denture/partial, then you MUST let the doctor know during this appointment. Very few changes can be made in the denture/partial after the appointment.
Appointment 5: Deliver the denture/partial.
In the final appointment you will receive the denture/partial. We usually do very little adjusting at this appointment since the denture/partial takes time to seat completely. Don’t be alarmed if the denture feels big, loose, or uncomfortable at first. It will take several hours for the denture/partial to seat completely. You will have some sore spots. These are normal and you can stop in the office anytime during office hours (no appointments necessary) for adjustments. We will also schedule you in 2 weeks for an exam to make sure all is going well and to answer any questions you may have.
